Rising soul-singer B. Jamelle releases her latest single, “UpsideRound”
Mark the name B. Jamelle as it will definitely receive a lot of love on this site. The moniker belongs to a D.C.-area songstress that is an incredible talent known for delivering introspective, leading-edge songs that draw from a wealth of different musical influences while still managing to give off a clear “sultry soul” vibe. Since November of last year, the singer/songwriter has been gaining new fans, and teasing long time listeners, with a string of singles showcasing her hypnotic vocals over a collection of dreamy soundscapes. Her latest single, entitled “UpsideRound“, is a sexy number that plays out more passionately than the lyrics may lead you to believe…..which only makes the song all the more memorable. Great work from a rising star.
New music from a Rochester, NY based emcee Moses Rockwell
For a track that’s entitled “Drained“, lyricist Moses Rockwell and emcee/producer Hassaan Mackey manage to bring a lot of energy on this single. I’ll admit that I’m not very familiar with Moses Rockwell but I gotta give it to the young brother for delivering some of the livest verses that I’ve heard in a while. My major complaint with many of today’s up-and-coming emcees is that they tend to keep their lyrics on the simplistic side of things, but Moses easily avoids that lane by keeping his lyrics layered and lively at the same time. Over Hassaan Mackey ‘s hard hitting drums and spacey synth lines, Rockwell seems to unload weeks of thoughts and introspection into each verse yet still manages to keep “Drained“ from sounding too heavy. Dope work from both Moses Rockwell and Hassaan Mackey that well-worth the $1 asking price needed to add this single to your iPod playlist.
As promised…I’m releasing the official “viral” video to my song “Bare My Heart” today! I’m hoping and praying that people will really dig the visuals to this record and email me for a free MP3 of the song. Yeah that’s right! If you email me at jahahmamasonlyson@rocketmail.com and ask me to “Bare My Heart”…I will send you a free copy of my song “Bare My Heart”. It’s that simple beautiful people!

Brand new mixtape featuring next-level, boom-bap beats from producer Gensu Dean
I’ve been checking for producer/beatmaker Gensu Dean since discovering his sound back when Myspace was the king of the social networking hill. So you know I had to spread the word about the newly released mixtape, Jointz , which blends together some of Dean ‘s most memorable productions into one collection. This mixtape should be a welcomed addition to the hard-drives of hip hop fans longing for that sample-heavy, straight-from-the-crates sound that continues to be tried by many, yet mastered by only a few. DJ Chief One does a solid job of selecting and mixing the 16 tracks making up this mixtape, managing to not only showcase Gensu Dean ‘s signature sound but also highlight the gallery of well-respected emcee’s that he has had a chance to work with over the years. Jointz also celebrates the upcoming release of Gensu Dean ‘s Lo Fi Fingahz project, which promises to make even more waves when it drops in the next couple of weeks. Shout out to the ever-growing and forever dope Mello Music Group for getting this out to the world.
Brand new funk burner from the band Con Brio
Man…ask and you shall receive! I was just thinking about how I needed to find some new Hammond-driven deep funk to bring in this unseasonably warm winter’s evening. Enter the track “Weigh On Me“, the new single from the group Con Brio. The song is from the group’s soon to be released The Bay is Burning album, which was recorded during one of the group live performances in their hometown of San Francisco, CA. Lead singer Xandra Corpora uses every part of her powerful voice to fill the room with gritty soul music as the band channels the sort of bluesy-funk that’s always guaranteed to get any crowd moving. All around funky cut that’s right up my alley. Dig the sounds..
